Creative Schools - Graffiti Art
Creative Schools is an initiative funded by the Arts Council, putting the arts and creativity at the heart of young people’s lives. We welcomed artist Violet Dempsey to come and work with the students to re-imagine our school hall. A lot of planning and preparation went into creating street art type designs: with stencils, spray paint, tagging, and swirls of colour painted on the walls. Based completely on the students’ ideas, the hall now reflects them and their interests. Our school motto is more prominently displayed and the hall looks fantastic.
Creative Schools - Circus Training
Creative Schools is an initiative funded by the Arts Council, putting the arts and creativity at the heart of young people’s lives. After enrolling in the programme, we were lucky enough to have a circus performer come in to train the students in juggling, balancing feathers and poles on their fingers and foreheads, walking on stilts, and even tossing Devilsticks.
Christmas Time in St Paul’s
Christmas in St Paul’s in always loads of fun. We started off with a big Christmas dinner for the whole school.
Students were then rewarded for their hard work, positive behaviour, and attendance by going on various trips. They raced each other around go-karting tracks, tried to stay upright while ice skating, challenged each other in pool and darts competitions, and battled it out in a big school quiz.
Home Economics
This term in Home Economics Group 1 made some fantastic dishes including this one today - Scrambled Eggs and Lemon Drizzle Pavlova.
The students put in a great effort in separating the eggs and whisking the egg whites. You know its done when you can hold the bowl over your head without the mixture falling out. We had some brave individuals who gave it a test !
